Elisabeth Bell Jewelry began in the Egyptian Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Beth Yorn, a model for Ford and Wilhelmina in NYC, often found herself with extra time on her hands in between photo shoots and meetings. She would spend these hours exploring the various ancient jewelry collections at the Met. Fascinated by the beauty of the pieces and their intricate detail, she decided to learn how to make them for herself. She signed up to study the art of metal-smithing at the Jewelry and Arts Institute in NYC. Since childhood, Yorn had a fascination with animals and at age fourteen she was volunteering at the local Audubon Society taking care of injured orphaned wildlife. Her passion for these wild animals deepened in her adult life, and inspired her to combine her two loves, nature and jewelry, by designing a collection that celebrates and symbolizes each unique creature. Soon a line of beautiful pendants was developed, each representing a different animal, such as eagles, cheetahs, jaguars, bobcats and hawks. Exact replicas of their claws and talons cast in various metals and accented with diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones, result in a special and raw design. Elisabeth Bell Jewelry is handcrafted in Yorn's Los Angeles Studio. The collection includes pieces cast in 14k yellow, rose gold, white gold, black oxidized sterling silver, platinum and pave diamond. The line has recently expanded from its signature pendant necklaces, to include simple and elegant earrings, rings and bangles. Each piece reflects Yorn's unfussy, yet glamorous aesthetic. EBJ is worn and loved by the designer's celebrity fans, including Cameron Diaz, Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mimi Rogers, Maria Menounos, Rose McGowan and Shiloh Fernandez.
