Francis Leon is a high-contemporary brand defined by their combination of sharp construction, superior quality and effortless styling. A creative collaboration with a mischievous voice, Francis Leon was created by a group of Australians in 2010 with the aim of approaching design "with an intelligent foundation and tongue-in-cheek attitude" - a creative ethos that extends to their marketing and social media platforms, engaging followers and encouraging "citizens" to join the "Republic of Francis Leon" (R.O.F.L). United by their love of futuristic sci-fi and gentlemanly cocktails, the group finds inspiration in the pages of old superhero comic books, the manifesto of the Italian Futurists, and in the systemic strength of urban landscapes and fast machines - ultimately taking form in dynamic panelling and functional detailing. Citing among their muses Rooney Mara, Freja Beha Erichsen, Mick Jagger and Charlotte Gainsbourg, the Francis Leon woman is effortless, favouring rolled-out-of-bed styling with a boyish nonchalance, and a tailored feminine appeal. The leather jacket is Francis Leon’s obsessive focus: analysing every detail and how it can be improved, the quest for the perfect jacket is a constant challenge. The jackets are lined in breathable stretch sportsmesh; pocket positions, access, size and usability are meticulously designed. Panels are positioned with the body in mind; sleeves or shoulders are cut in stretch fabrics for comfort and ease of movement. Maintaining the utmost quality throughout each stage of production, Francis Leon sources high-quality materials from around the world, from supple Italian leathers to unusual wool knits from Europe, soft Japanese cottons, and sleek performance fabrics such as neoprene and sportsmesh, ensuring each piece not only looks but feels exceptional. Since its inception, Francis Leon has progressed into a global brand. Recently establishing their HQ in London the label is now stocked in leading department stores and high-end boutiques throughout Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States.
