Welcome to Harper Ave, We are a small LA-based designer patent/leather backpack company. Simple, sleek, and always appropriate, we crafted a bag that will accompany you from day to night, studio to farmer’s market, desk to disco, airport to art show – everywhere & anywhere! Spending the past few years studying architecture in London, freelancing design jobs in LA, and general rambling and roaming, I realized that no bag out there fit my frenzied lifestyle. No purse would do, overstuffed totes were uncomfortable and sloppy, and backpacks just seemed too casual at times. Sometimes I would spend the day hopping on and off the subway, dragging my textbooks and laptop to school, the library, cafes, even bringing a change of clothes and heels for the evening. Sometimes I would take last minute overnight trips and only wanted to deal with one bag to hold everything; other times I would need nothing more than my wallet, phone, keys, lip balm, and journal. As a creative and active person who loves fashion, I needed a practical bag that looked chic in any situation, that could hold everything or almost nothing at all, that would always feel appropriate and comfortable, and most importantly- left both my hands free and ready for whatever I was doing. This is why I started Harper Ave. We took the classic backpack form, stripped it down to its essentials, and crafted a sleek, sexy, and super roomy backpack. Each backpack is named after an architect or artist whose work inspired its particular colors and textures. I hope to fit you with a new backpack soon, and that they make your life as easy and glamorous as they did mine!
