Influenced by architecture and engineering, Keely Hunter’s work combines innovative techniques with unique materials to create hats that can only be defined as wearable modernity. The result is headwear for a modern world that steps beyond the predictable, encouraging people to look at hats differently and see them as the objects of unique beauty they are. Trained in London, Keely worked under various couture milliners and accessories designers before establishing her own label. Her work to date has appeared in numerous publications – including Vogue Germany (shot by Mario Testino), Vogue UK, Vogue Italia, ES Magazine, Grazia, Wallpaper*, The Mail on Sunday’s You Magazine, Volt and S Magazine, among others. Handpicked by Selfridges to be a Bright Young Thing – the first milliner ever chosen for the store’s ‘next big thing’ designer showcase – Keely has also been named a next generation designer to watch by Wallpaper* Magazine. She is one of the recipients of the British Fashion Council’s Stephen Jones curated Headonism Initiative and shows her seasonal collections at London and Paris Fashion Week. Alongside her main seasonal collections, Keely offers a bespoke commissioning service for private clients, as well as producing specifically designed pieces for commercial and art projects. Past clients include MAC make-up, Selfridges and Machine A. She regularly participates in designer collaborations with the likes of Fred Butler, Kitty Joseph and Peter Jensen. Keely’s work has been worn by celebrities like Paloma Faith and her occasion wear can be spotted at major events like Royal Ascot.
