Melet Mercantile represents my life's work as a traveler and collector. I am a fourth generation vendor of fashion, spending every day of the past 25 years honing my experience as a curator of vintage and antiques. At twenty one, I opened my first antique shop and art gallery. Five years later I went to work for Ralph Lauren as the head of vintage buying for the newly launched Double RL label. After 10 amazing years, I set out to create something new. Melet Mercantile was founded in 2003 on the notion that New York City needed a resource where designers, art directors, editors, stylists or anyone in search of something different and inspiring could discover the most rare and unique things in the world -- simply by picking up the phone and heading downtown. Ten successful years later we have grown and evolved to include a seasonal outpost on Montauk, NY as well as a creative services studio to support the diverse needs of our clients.
