From learning the art of traditional Japanese Washi papermaking, to studying Illustration at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts, through his self-taught and instinctive approach of art as a mix of disciplines, Pierre Louis Mascia is an innovative creator of fashion accessories. With the launch of PLM in 2007 and a partnership with Italian entrepreneur Achille Pinto, Pierre-Louis Mascia materializes a project that combines his years of training at prestigious fashion houses instilled with tradition and history (shoe maker Robert Clergerie, glove maker Morand…), his creations as an editorial illustrator (Vogue US, ELLE…) and his visuals for Chanel, Yoji Yamamoto and Neiman Marcus stores... During his time as an art director for Who’s Next ready-to-wear and Première Classe accessories salons, he gets a taste of scenography and a full-scale approach of space. With his own brand creating scarves, blankets, bags, small accessories and now knits, Pierre Louis Mascia expresses the key values of his culture by projecting on luxurious accessories his love for prints and juxtaposition of motifs and materials. Heavily rooted in comfortable luxury and often inspired by Mittle Europa and its traveling artists, the PLM brand doesn't hesitate to embrace new technologies (laser printing) and innovative materials (nylon). His best seller - the Maurice bag - along with the printed silk twill and jersey modal blanket together sum up the DNA for the Pierre-Louis Mascia brand, urban and energetic, poetic and timeless.
