Thor & Wistle is a boutique atelier and concept space all rolled into one. It is a collaborative project between us: Kamilla Thorsen and Rachel Entwistle of Dynasty and Rachel Entwistle Jewellery. We design and make everything here in our studio and work with other UK designers to collaborate and showcase the best of emerging design talent. Our brands pay homage to natural history, entomology, symbolism and mythology. We met in December 2009 in Netil House Studios in London Fields where we were both looking for s studio space. After a quick chat we decided to go for sharing a studio that was immediately available. Little did we know how well we would collaborate as a team and how much our brands would grow through this partnership. In the Autumn of 2011 we rented the Number 94 Pop-up shop on Columbia Road and had an amazing response from customers. The term ended and we felt ready to set up our own space in East London. Fortuitously we came across 5a Club Row and jumped at the chance. We moved in March 2012 and got to work designing and fitting the space out with lots of help from some brilliant creative friends. The boutique has been a labour of love for us. We designed the store with up-cycling in mind, utilizing recycled and salvaged materials along with antiques and curiosities to create an unusual and atmospheric space. We wanted it to be an extension of our design inspiration and a welcoming place for people to visit and get to know our brands.
