Alighieri’s The Jaja necklace is inspired by the themes of friendship in the Inferno portion of Dante’s Divine Comedy, where the protagonist is guided up the mountain of Purgatory by the great poet, Virgil. Handmade in Hatton Garden, London from 24kt gold-plated bronze, the textured oval-link chain suspends an asymmetric pendant with an exposed baroque pearl nestled inside.
Founded in 2014, Alighieri creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’. Its ‘Modern Heirlooms’ are all handcrafted in London. Core pieces are cast in recycled bronze before being plated in gold, or made in solid sterling silver, supplied by certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
